Exciting opportunity to join a US based consumer product design and manufacturing company. Continuing their drive to further develop their brands, they are looking for a Junior/Graduate Product Design Engineer to focus on new product creation. This is a global rotational role with a fixed final location in California, USA.

My client is a consumer products design and manufacturing company, based in California, USA, with a design studio in the UK and manufacturing facilities in China. As a company they are passionate about their brands and delighting their customers with innovative and high-quality products.

The Role
Focused on new product creation, you will spend considerable time at each of the company’s global offices (China/UK/USA), supporting their global Product Innovation Teams to co-create front-end solutions across existing and new categories for their core brands. The role will sit in the sweet spot between design and engineering to create prototypes and test solutions, aligning with insights and experience from each global region.
Concepts will be created then tested with consumers, prototyped and validated in each location, with support from the global product innovation teams and R&D teams in China. Once the product opportunity is well understood in terms of feasibility (design, engineering, marketing, brand and Continuous Integration), the China teams and suppliers will complete the detail design and manufacturing preparation.

Skills and experience
The role requires a combination of skills likely to be found in a graduate Industrial Design Engineer, Product Design Engineer or Mechanical Design Engineer.
You will have spent up to 2 years in consumer product design and development for local or international markets.

• At least a bachelor’s degree in a relevant Engineering discipline, a BSc/MSc in Industrial Design Engineering is strongly preferred
• Fluent in English
• Willing and able to work in China/UK/US
