The Role
Work on the development of cutting-edge technology and equipment within an exciting, agile and growing sector. Based at the company HQ in Sydney, you will be part of an autonomous, cross-functional team within a flat organisational structure. Reporting to the VP of Quality, you will be responsible for the informal and formal mechanical testing of prototypes and production units as well as managing compliance testing with external parties. This will include the writing of test plans and recording of results.
- Consult with various teams to understand testing requirements
- Write up test plans and test reports
- Develop in-house testing rigs and set up test equipment
- Conduct mechanical testing in house
- Coordinate with external parties for product certification and mechanical testing
- Thorough understanding of mechanical test standards
- Communicate findings with various teams and suggest product improvements
Skills and experience
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering or relevant experience
- Experience in writing test plans and recording results
- Experience in setting up test equipment and sourcing test equipment from suppliers
- Experience in conducting common mechanical tests such as temperature, vibration, shock and ingress protection
- Experience taking products through formal mechanical testing and certification and engaging with test houses
- SolidWorks experience favourable
- Ansys simulation experience favourable
- Suitable to hold a security clearance if required
